Date Bark

Just like a candy bar, sweet and bright,
But with ingredients that treat you right.

Here’s a recipe, simple and sweet,
A date bark treat you’ll love to eat!

Ingredients

Recipe

  1. Get a sheet of parchment paper and put it in a baking tray, or another surface that can go into the freezer later.
  2. Remove the pits from the Medjoul Dates, fold the dates open and put them on the parchment paper (4X4).
  3. Put another sheet of parchment paper over the Medjoul Dates and use a glass, bowl or other instrument to press the dates flat. The parchment paper keeps the dates from sticking to the glass. After the dates are nice and flat you can remove the parchment paper.
  4. Put about 2-4 tbsp of nut butter on top of the dates and spread it out evenly. You can choose yourself how thick you would like the layer of nut butter.

5. Chop the Nuts and put them on top of the nut butter. Press slightly.

6. To make the chocolate, melt the Cacao Paste in a bowl and add the ` Organic Coconut Sugar, Coconut Oil, and Ceylon Cinnamon. Mix everything.

Here you can experiment with the ingredients of your chocolate. Put more or less sugar, depending of the desired level of sweetness. If you find that the chocolate has a too strong dark taste, but you do not like it any sweeter, you can add more coconut oil.

7. Drizzle the chocolate over the nuts, nut butter and dates. Spread out evenly.

8. Put some Mulberries , Cacao Nibs and a pinch of Celtic Sea salt over the chocolate.

9. Put it in the freezer for about 2 hours, until the chocolate becomes hard.

10. Cut in bite sized pieces and take it out of the freezer whenever you feel like having a treat. Enjoy!
