Here's a simple recipe for a delicious matcha latte:
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp high-quality culinary grade matcha powder
- 1 oz hot water (not boiling, around 175°F/80°C)
- 6-8 oz plant milk of your choice (make it yourself with nut butter)
- Sweetener to taste (optional)
Instructions:
- Sift the matcha powder into a cup or bowl to remove any clumps. You can use a the traditional bamboo matcha whisk, or "chasen", a baloom wire whisk or an electric whisk.
- Add the hot water and whisk vigorously in a zig-zag motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and slightly frothy.
- Heat and froth your milk of choice.
- Pour the frothed milk over the matcha mixture (or the other way around ;)
- Add sweetener if desired, and enjoy your perfect matcha latte!
