This recipe is quick and easy, just like you are used from us. You can use this caramel in your bakeries, as a frosting, as a dip with your fruit or even as a spread on some toast.
What do you need?
- 350 grams medjoul dates
- 1/2 cup nut milk (we recommend using cashew or almond milk)
- High speed blender or food processor
Optional:
- Vanilla
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Remove the pit and the crown from the dates.
- Place everything together in a high speed blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. You might have to stop the blender a couple of times to scrape the sides. Make sure there are no date chunks left. Add more nut milk if desired.
- You can serve immediately
Make sure to store leftovers in an airtight jar or container in the fridge. It will stay good for a week.
Tips
- Are your a dates a bit hard? This can happen when they've been in the fridge. Get them out of the fridge 2 hours before making the spread.
- Are the dates still a bit hard? Soak the dates in hot filtered water. (don't throw the water away! This water becomes deliciously sweet, perfect for making iced tea)
